The Global Trade Compliance Manager, EMEA Export role focuses on ensuring the legal international trade of software and goods in compliance with applicable government laws and regulations, with an emphasis on export compliance regulations in the EU and across the EMEA region. The role is an integral part of the larger GTC Export team responsible for the global export compliance program for Aptiv and our related business units (collectively “Aptiv”).Main ResponsibilitiesEnsure that the company’s activities within EMEA are compliant with domestic and international export and sanctions requirements.Serve as the resident expert on the export and sanctions regulations applicable to Aptiv’s EMEA operations.Monitor, analyse and interpret government regulations, policy and requirements for export controls and sanctions for Aptiv’s EMEA operations.Provide export classification, as required, to support compliant export of Aptiv products and software.Manage national and EU export license applications, general export authorizations, usage and reporting requirements.Support export-related EMEA customs audits.Support the creation and maintenance of export compliance processes and procedures.Develop and deliver export training to relevant Aptiv stakeholders.Support Aptiv’s GTC Internal Assessment program through site assessments, corrective action management, and validating site/business unit improvements.Ensure appropriate maintenance of export-related records in accordance with Aptiv and Legal recordkeeping requirements.Provide consultation to business units, subsidiaries, and functional leadership on issues affecting the business, and resolve matters in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.Other tasks as assigned.Education / Experience / Key Requirements Experience in software export classification and jurisdiction determination, including cloud-based software design/development.5+ years of relevant export operational experience for transactions worldwide, including with a multi-national company or consulting firm.Preference of candidate with experience managing inter-company transactions in US/EU and EU/China trade lanes, including interacting with global research & development teams.Extensive experience with EU and EMEA export controls systems and government agencies, EU export classification (including the Common Military List), and country of origin determination. Knowledge of US deemed export and re-export regulations, including De Minimis and Direct Product rules.Knowledge of EU GEA registration requirements, usage rules and government reporting requirements.
