We are currently recruiting for an experienced IT Field Service Engineer in the Galway/Mayo/Sligo region. This role may span one or more areas of expertise; this will depend on the candidate’s ability to learn and absorb complex technologies.
As an IT Field Service Engineer, you will:
1. Provide on-site support to our customer base;
2. Develop and build positive and professional relationships with our customers;
3. Liaise with other engineers/technicians and customers;
4. Diagnose/troubleshoot software, hardware, and network issues at customer sites;
5. Install/Configure servers, computer equipment & peripherals;
6. Deal with customers' issues effectively and efficiently while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction with the services that we offer;
7. Communicate regularly with the dispatcher regarding on-site visits;
8. Update the ticketing system after each call.
To be considered as an IT Field Service Engineer, you will need:
1. A proven third-level qualification in an IT-related discipline. The minimum qualification is that of CompTIA, but those with higher qualifications, up to and including degree level should also apply, as this role is used to advance suitable candidates’ careers;
2. Experience and a proven track record in a similar customer-facing role in the IT sector;
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Desktop OS (domain environment), desktop application related configurations, troubleshooting, etc.;
4. Strong problem-solving skills, ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to find a resolution;
5. Good interpersonal skills, works well with others;
6. Excellent communication skills, fluent in speaking and writing English essential;
7. Hold a full, clean Irish/EU driving license;
8. Be available to work out of hours – evenings and weekends on a rostered basis.
