Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Qualified Accountant to join our team as a Senior Financial Accountant on a 12-month contract basis.
The role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and involves providing cover for other Senior Accountants within the Financial Management Team, undertaking financial projects as required, and contributing to the further development of the finance function within the agency.
Key Tasks:
* Review and approve grant payments and payments to creditors, ensuring compliance with key internal controls and procedures, for subsequent approval by the CFO.
* Assist in budgeting and financial reporting processes.
* Liaise with auditors as necessary.
* Assist with routine and non-routine financial projects as needed.
* Ensure all tasks meet internal and external audit requirements in terms of timing, quality of information, and compliance with procedures and controls.
* Implement procedures and processes to ensure internal (Executive Committee & Audit Finance & Risk Committee) and external (Department of Enterprise Trade and Employment - DETE) reporting deadlines are met.
* Maintain good relationships with key stakeholders, including internal clients, DETE, C&AG, and Internal Auditors.
* Participate in continuous learning and development through informal and formal learning and the Performance Management and Development Review Process.

Requirements:
* A professional accountancy qualification is essential (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA).
* Excellent project management skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and financial analysis skills.
* Ability to work well under pressure, work flexibly, and independently on own initiative.
* Track record of effective management and training/development of team members.
* A full driving licence is essential.
