Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing to lead our team at a small nursing home in Co. Mayo. This is a full-time permanent contract, requiring exceptional leadership and management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the nursing department
* Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures that align with healthcare regulations and quality standards
* Mentor and coach nursing staff to enhance their skills and performance
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery
* Monitor and improve patient outcomes, satisfaction, and experience
* Foster a culture of compassion, empathy, and respect among staff and residents
* Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring efficient use of personnel and materials
* Contribute to the development of business strategies and initiatives
* Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or Healthcare desirable
* Registration in the relevant Division of the register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the NMBI
* Minimum 7 years of nursing experience, with at least 3 years nursing older people in the last 6 years
* 1 year nursing management experience in a leadership or management role, preferably in a long-term care setting
* Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare regulations, nursing practices, and quality standards
* Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
* Compassionate and empathetic approach to resident care
* Strong ethical standards and commitment to integrity
* Ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team
* Problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure

Salary:
€59 to €62k per annum DOE
