Your Role
You'll work closely with various software engineering teams, international software QA centers, translators, and project managers to ensure that Apple delivers exceptional software products worldwide. Your primary goal is to guarantee that our software works seamlessly across all markets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Enhance and localise the user interface and underlying functionality of Apple's applications and platforms.
2. Analyse international functionality issues and make adjustments to application and OS source code.
3. Collaborate cross-functionally with other engineering teams, QA, and project management teams throughout Apple.
4. Develop and maintain software tools that facilitate the localisation and internationalisation process.
Requirements
* Proficiency in Objective-C or Swift programming languages.
* Familiarity with Apple's development APIs (UIKit, Cocoa, Foundation).
* Experience in building software for Apple's platforms (watchOS, tvOS, iOS, macOS).
* Experience with software testing and version control.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
* A working knowledge of UNIX commands.
* Strong analytics and problem-solving skills.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience working with diverse languages and cultures.
* Background in software localisation/internationalisation.
* A working knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl).
* Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking languages other than English.
* Familiarity with Computational/Corpus Linguistics.
* Experience addressing international text issues such as right-to-left layout and Unicode.
