Job Title: Company Accountant
We are seeking an experienced Company Accountant to join our client, a growing company within the construction industry.
About the Role
In this critical position, you will manage the finance function and play a key role in the ongoing success of the company. Your responsibilities will include:
* Preparing and analysing monthly management accounts, overseeing financial planning, and managing annual audits.
* Managing accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, subcontractor payments, and aged creditor reviews.
* Administering payroll, pensions, employee benefits, and maintaining accurate records of holidays and overtime.
* Ensuring full tax compliance, including RCT, PAYE, and VAT returns, while liaising with relevant authorities.
* Supervising IT systems, vendor relationships, and procurement of office and financial software.
* Overseeing fleet and equipment management, ensuring tax, insurance, and regulatory compliance.
* Ensuring compliance with employment laws, health & safety standards, and financial regulations.
* Providing financial insights to senior management to optimize business performance and risk management.
Requirements
* A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) is preferred.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.
* Experience in construction or a related industry is an advantage.
* Strong knowledge of taxation laws and regulatory compliance.
* Excellent organisational, analytical, and multitasking skills.
* Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools.
* High attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis.
* Strong communication skills to convey financial insights effectively.
* Problem-solving ability and proactive financial risk management.
