The Role
We are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our fast-paced, high-performing international accounting team. As we continue to grow and expand globally, we understand that hiring the right people and treating them well is key to our success! We are a multi-national company with locations in 18 countries, with each location contributing to Proofpoint’s amazing culture.
This individual will be an integral part of the international accounting team with focus in European countries. This is a great opportunity that will allow for career growth as the Company continues to expand.
1. Responsible for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures, including account reconciliations and roll-forward schedules
2. Prepare journal entries based on review of supporting reconciliations and schedules
3. General Ledger responsibilities including, but not limited to monthly Management reporting packages, Accounting for International Subs, Accruals, and other areas
4. Assist in preparing monthly balance sheet and income statement flux variance analyses for management reporting
5. Coordinate with HR and local outsourcing firms to process international payroll, review monthly payroll reports
6. Support in the procure to pay process
7. Support in annual subs audits where applicable
8. Support team in finance SOX compliance activities
9. Assist in process improvement projects, including coordination with cross-functional teams
10. Deliver on any ad-hoc projects as necessary
Job Requirements
11. Bachelor’s degree, emphasis in Accounting
12. Experience in general accounting experience in industry and/or a public accounting firm as well as in international subs; experience in international payroll a plus
13. Demonstrates a strong working knowledge of US GAAP
14. Strong proficiency in Excel, ability to organize and communicate effectively across various mediums with varying audiences
15. Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and prioritization skills
16. System ERP experience a plus, primarily D365
