Data Analyst
Location: Hybrid (Ballina, Co. Mayo)
Contract Duration: 24 months (with potential for 2 extensions of 12 months each)
Start Date: 16th December 2024 (or as soon as possible thereafter)
Job Description:
The Client is seeking to procure the services of a Junior Statistician / Data Analyst to join their Data Analysis Unit. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting key data analysis tasks across various projects and initiatives aimed at improving road safety. Reporting to the Head of the Data Analysis Unit, this role is ideal for individuals with 3 years of experience in data analytics, looking to grow their skills in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Extract information via complex SQL queries to Client data stores and present insights through Tableau data visualisations aligned with Client standards.
2. Apply statistical analysis and data mining techniques to understand customer behavior, predictive modeling, risk analysis, and customer segmentation.
3. Assist in the design of the Client Enterprise Data Model for ingestion, transformation, and cleansing of data.
4. Validate data migration systems and ensure the continuity of business reports.
5. Enhance data quality by identifying anomalies through scripts and integrating them into Client's Data Quality Monitoring Framework.
6. Collaborate with the Data Strategy Team to design and implement Client's Data Strategy.
7. Support the delivery of key reporting and analysis across Client’s data demand channels, including the PMO, operational data needs, and prioritised data projects.
8. Facilitate knowledge transfer within the team through shadowing and internal upskilling programs.
9. Provide regular progress reports on assigned work items.
Required Skills and Experience:
1. Experience: 3 years of experience in a data analysis/statistics role, preferably in both the private and public sectors.
2. Qualifications: A formal qualification in data analytics or a related discipline at Level 8 or higher on the National Framework of Qualifications.
3. Technical Skills:
4. Practical experience with SQL (complex joins, data manipulation, query optimization).
5. Experience with Tableau or Power BI for data visualisation.
6. Knowledge of predictive analytics using tools such as R and Python.
7. Familiarity with Azure Data Factory and Azure SQL for data ingestion and transformations.
8. Ability to write technical documentation and explain technical approaches to team members.
9. Experience managing multiple work items and delivering on business priorities.

Pay: €30,000.00-€40,000.00 per year
