What’s the OpportunityWe’re looking for a Data Engineer to help us manage the vast amounts of data generated by Ireland’s leading online marketplaces, Daft.ie, DoneDeal.ie and Adverts.ie. In this role, you will build processes to ingest, store and transform the data so that it can be used for insights, to power features on our websites, or as inputs to machine learning models.What will I be doingDeveloping data pipelines and associated data transformations that support data production and consumption throughout the organisation Ensuring our data is trusted by our data consumers, colleagues and partners and that we provide timely and appropriate data to support the businessDriving data modeling activities to simplify raw data into consumable data sets for end-usersSupporting the platform maintenance activities to ensure ongoing smooth operation Collaborating with Daft and DoneDeal application development teams to provide the data needed for some data features for end users on our websitesWorking with exciting new ML/AI technologies such as AWS SageMakerWhat skills and experience do I needAt least 2 years proven experience in a similar roleHands-on experience with SQL (DDL, DML) and Python in your role(s). (Most of our production systems are Java based, however data engineering use Python)Experience with relational databases (Redshift, Postgres, MySQL).Experience working on highly available, distributed systems for the processing of large data setsExperience working on large-scale data warehousing and analytics projectsAdvantage if you haveExperience with cloud technologies.
