Job Title: Duty Manager
Role Purpose:
We are seeking a Duty Manager for a busy Independent Living/Direct Provision Centre in Templemacateer, near Moate, County Westmeath.
A background in Reception/Hospitality/Social Care would be advantageous, but full training will be provided to the right candidate.
The ideal candidate must adhere to policies and procedures to ensure service delivery meets agreed standards throughout the centre.
The centre operates under IPAS contracts with regular inspections from IPAS and HIQA.
The ideal candidate must provide a professional, friendly, and courteous service to all residents while supporting their needs and working with external government supports, volunteers, and NGOs.
The role is scheduled over 7 days with varying rosters between 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday and approximately 9-5:30pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
The successful candidate will be accountable to the Centre Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting the Centre Manager: Oversight and management of location, clear communication and positive interaction with all stakeholders.
* Resident Support: Integration into centre life, participation in activities, and general integration into the wider community.
* Maintenance: Investigating, reporting, arranging next steps, and inspecting works done.
* Room Preparation: Preparing rooms for arrivals, checking rooms on departure, and conducting weekly room inspections.
* Housekeeping and Gardening: Some housekeeping and light gardening tasks.
* Activity Program Management: Running the Resident Activity Program with internal and external events, marketing events to residents for participation, ideas, and developing inclusion.
* Induction and Training: Actively participating in induction, training, and supervision reviews to strengthen skills, operational knowledge, and growth.
* Handover Reports: Managing daily handover reports and actively supporting completion with colleagues on daily, weekly, monthly assignments and reports.
* Security and Welfare: Monitoring security personnel services, supporting Residents' Welfare and services they need.
* Risk Management: Ensuring support for Health and Risk Initiatives, Fire Safety Management, and Risk Management.
The Person:
* Computer Skills: Clear professional communication style for in-person, emails, and phone use. Strong basic word and excel skills required.
* Driver's License: Must have a full license. Mileage provided and travel time included in scheduled work hours.
* Garda Vetting: Must pass Garda Vetting before commencing new position. Police clearance required if lived outside Ireland for more than six months.
