Responsibilities:
* Provide 5-Star care to our amazing residents
* Bathe, shave, dress and undress residents; care for hair, fingernails, eyes and ears; perform daily dental care and perineal care.
* Lift, turn, move, position, transfer and transport residents; assist residents with walking with or without self-help devices.
* Respond to resident calls promptly and ensure call cords are within reach.
* Assist residents with bowel and bladder functions; collect specimens as instructed.
* Keep incontinent residents clean and dry; change clothing and linens as needed.
* Change bed linens and make beds; provide extra covers as requested.
* Routinely check on residents to ensure personal care needs are met.
* Perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed.
* Assist residents in preparing for activities, meals, and appointments.
* Prepare residents for meals and perform after meal care.
* Observe and record intake of food and fluids; report changes in eating habits.
* Serve food trays and assist with feeding as needed.
* Weigh and measure residents; observe and report symptoms and changes.
* Provide residents with Reality Orientation as instructed.
* Participate in nursing reports at shift changes and assist with the health care plan.
* Prepare room for new residents; assist with packing and unpacking possessions.
* Assist with the care of dying residents and provide post-mortem care as instructed.
Qualifications:
* A desire to make a difference!
* Willingness to grow!
* Must be 18 years or older.
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Must be listed on the State of Ohio Nurse Aide Registry with no record of abuse or neglect.
* Must successfully pass the criminal background check.
* Must have a personality attuned to meeting the needs of the elderly.
* Ability to handle routine tasks, following specific instructions carefully.
* Effective communication skills in English, both orally and in writing.
* Familiarity with different types of equipment, including Hoyer lift, tub lift, geri-chair, lap lock, wheelchairs, etc.
