The Tax Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring tax compliance, providing expert guidance on tax-related matters, and supporting the business in managing its tax obligations effectively. Key responsibilities & duties Supporting in respect of tax reporting for half year and year-end financial audit Assisting in the preparation of tax compliance with emphasis on Corporation Tax, RCT and VAT Identify and resolve tax technical issues, preparing technical analysis and involving specialists as appropriate to prepare or review analysis. Interpreting changes in tax policy and the impact of same on the business Build strong relationships with relevant business units to ensure timely communication regarding the potential impact of any proposed legislative changes Ad hoc tax consultancy to support different business units (e.g. investments team) on tax related matters such as VAT, corporation tax, stamp duty, RCT and payroll taxes. Exploring opportunities for efficiencies and process improvements Ongoing review of controls and compliance procedures Requirements Qualified chartered tax advisor ("CTA) Qualified chartered accountant (ACA) A good understanding and experience of construction industry desirable Experience of working with Microsoft NAV desirable Experience with tax technology and automation desirable Accuracy and skills in problem solving and analytical thinking Excellent attention to detail A right first-time attitude and approach Ability to work without supervision on multiple tasks and to tight deadlines on occasion Ability to build relationships and communicate the impact of tax changes Excellent communication and presentation skills. Salary circa 60-65k DOE / Kildare Location.
