Facility Manager

About the Role:
The Facility Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility management across two client sites, reporting directly to the Contract Manager.

Main Responsibilities:
1. Continued operation and maintenance of site facilities, including buildings, plant equipment, hard services, and soft services.
2. Management of routine preventative maintenance, testing, and inspection schedules to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.
3. Maintenance of operational procedures, preventive maintenance plans, business continuity plans, and emergency plans for buildings and utilities.
4. Preparing documents for requests for tenders and managing the tender process.
5. Comparing costs for required goods or services and delivering value for money.
6. Project managing, coordinating, and supervising third-party contractors, ensuring satisfactory completion and addressing deficiencies.
7. Ensuring buildings meet health and safety requirements and comply with relevant legislation.
8. Assisting local site Facilities Coordinators in directing, coordinating, and planning central services such as reception, mail, cleaning, catering, waste disposal, and recycling.
9. Operating a Building Management System and related functions.
10. Assisting in planning best allocation and utilisation of space, resources, and re-organising premises.
11. Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and dealing with consequences.
12. SUPPORTING LOCAL GREEN TEAMS/ENERGY OFFICERS IN ACHIEVING BUILDING ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT OBJECTIVES, INCLUDING THE IDENTIFICATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF ENERGY REDUCTION AND AWARENESS PROGRAMMES.
13. Attending local Building Management Committee meetings and addressing actions arising.
14. Supporting local Safety Management Team in building management-related matters.

Person Specification:
1. Experience in facilities management or building services industry/consultancy.
2. Expertise or familiarity with M&E, HVAC, and refrigerated equipment.
3. Familiarity with Building Management Systems.
4. Experience in project management and overseeing the work of external contractors.
5. Must possess a dynamic approach to achieving continuous improvement.
6. Experience in building environmental/energy efficiency.
7. Excellent listening, oral, written, and presentation skills.
8. Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and negotiation skills with a solid track record for developing internal and external relationships.
9. Strong IT skills, including good working knowledge of suite of MS Office applications and relevant facility management software.
10. Flexible attitude with a can-do work ethic and excellent problem-solving skills.
11. Proficiency in the English language with excellent customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications and Experience:
1. Relevant 3rd-level qualification (e.g. Building Services Engineer, Facilities management, or equivalent).
2. Experience in tendering for services and project/contract management.
3. 3-5 years experience in similar role.
4. Previous experience in a hands-on M&E role.

8:30 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.
