Role Overview
The Product Marketing Manager will play a key role in driving adoption, reducing churn, and increasing engagement through effective communication, internal enablement, and targeted in-app messaging. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and act as a bridge between our product and commercial functions.
Key Responsibilities
Feature Communication & Categorisation
- Collaborate with Product to understand the roadmap and upcoming releases
- Create and understand segmentation and cohorts of farmers, both customers and prospects, by farm type; jobs-to-be-done frameworks; geography and seasonality and other factors that will make marketing more targeted
- Categorise features as: - Tier 1: Must be promoted through sales/marketing campaigns. - Tier 2: Important enough for update emails or in-app messages. - Tier 3: Bug fixes or minor updates not requiring user communication.
Seasonal Marketing Calendar
- Own and manage the seasonal marketing calendar by farm type (e.g. dairy, beef, sheep).
- Map feature types and product updates to seasonal events (e.g. calving, breeding, TB testing) to ensure timely and relevant promotion.
Sales & Marketing Enablement
- Create clear, concise sales and marketing cheat sheets for every new feature or product release.
- Equip the Sales and Customer Success teams with talking points, value propositions, and use cases. You own the 'one-liner' for each and every product and feature, old and new
In-App Messaging & Feature Adoption
- Develop and execute targeted in-app messages via Intercom to:
- - Drive feature adoption.
- - Increase daily active usage (DAU).
- - Reduce customer churn.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Organise and lead regular syncs between Sales, Marketing, CS, and Product to ensure feedback loops and communication are tight.
- Serve as a key conduit of commercial insight back to Product.
Help Desk & Documentation
- Collaborate with the CS and Product teams to maintain and improve Intercom Help Desk documentation.
- Ensure help content is updated and aligned with new releases.
KPIs & Success Metrics
- Increase in feature adoption.
- Growth in daily active users (DAU).
- Reduction in churn.
- Package upgrades from customers due to clearer communication of value.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 3+ years experience in a product marketing, product management, or similar role in a SaaS or technology company.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills and the ability to translate technical details into clear value propositions.
- Hands-on experience with in-app messaging tools like Intercom.
- Experience working closely with Product, Sales, and Customer Success teams.
- A background in farming, agtech, or a deep understanding of the agricultural sector is a strong advantage.
- Highly organised and capable of managing multiple workstreams.
