Our marine client, based in Cork, are recruiting for a Technical Superintendent. As a Technical Superintendent, you will be responsible for all technical-related issues of an assigned group of vessels and will plan for port state control and vetting inspections, communicate with the Ops group on day-to-day matters, and all scheduled dry dockings.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
1. Chief Engineer with experience on offshore vessels, or experienced technical superintendent in the offshore sector.
2. Experience of offshore standby/supply vessels is essential.
3. Some electrical experience/knowledge (preferred).
4. Experience in ship repair/ship management.
5. You will have strong planning and organisational skills.
6. Flexibility to travel frequently and able to work under pressure.
7. Good verbal and written communication and reporting skills in English are essential.
8. You must have a right to work in Ireland to be considered for this position.
JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Assess and report on the technical conditions and operational expenses for an assigned group of vessels in the fleet.
2. Responsible for technical-related unplanned off-hires, port state control and class inspections.
3. Communicate with the Operations Department on day-to-day matters in respect of voyage operations.
4. Schedule and supervise planned and unplanned repairs, inspections and dry dockings.
5. Responsible for the class status of the vessel and for arranging surveys.
