We are looking for an experienced Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to lead and manage the DPI Critical Environment team on the Data Centre contract to operate and maintain the critical facility infrastructure. The SAP has full responsibility for all the operational performance, technical and contractual requirements within the Data Centre. The ideal candidate will possess Data Centre or similar critical facility experience with strong technical, operational and leadership skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Develop, mentor and manage the Critical Environments team on the contract.
* Manage and develop a professional relationship with the client representatives at your Data Centres to create a positive customer experience.
* Assist with Post-Incident and Root Cause Analysis reviews and communicate lessons learned to the client & DPI teams.
* Deliver a performance level which achieves and exceeds the KPI’s and SLA’s set down in the SOW.
* Be the main point of contact during significant events or multi-discipline technical escalations occurring on site 24/7.
* Develop and manage all operational procedures and drills within your Data Centres.
* Prepare the CE data required for all reports and meetings for the Data Centres, including Monthly DPI Contract reviews, MBR’s, QBR’s and any other reports as required.
* Drive for consistency in how CE activities are managed by aligning to CM’s across the wider business. Promote collaboration and cooperation of efforts from DPI CE teams at all levels.
* Audit the CE team’s efficiency and performance, develop efficiencies and innovations that benefit the client and DPI.
* Talent manage all DPI employees on the contract to ensure appropriate training plans, performance reviews and career progression is identified.
* Motivate and develop a successful team by setting achievable targets, promoting accountability and sharing of information, providing constructive feedback, encouraging new ideas and aligning priorities within the critical domain.
* Ensure Data Centre coverage is maintained for 24/7 operations as per SOW.
* Ensure Data Centre operations, business policies and processes are effectively communicated, implemented and adhered to at all times by all DPI staff within the contract.
* Ensure both the clients’ and DPI’s Quality, Health, Safety and Environment policies and processes are effectively implemented across both DPI and subcontractors’ activities.
* Ensure appropriate control systems are in place to ensure statutory, policy and contractual commitments are met.
* Manage all annual maintenance service contracts within budgets and ensure all contracts are accurately captured within the financial forecasting and technical planning documentation for the Data Centres.
* Manage all subcontractor’s projects and break-fix repairs within the Data Centre. Ensure all accounts and documentation associated with these subcontractors are current and up to date.
* Carry out quarterly subcontractor reviews via DPI scorecards providing continuous feedback to our suppliers to improve overall service delivery for the contract and ensure all contractual obligations are met.
* Manage other tasks as directed by your senior management team.
* Represent the business, upholding our core values and behaviours with all internal and external customers, clients and third parties.
* Maintain business and client confidentiality, adhering to applicable Data Protection regulations and Information Security Standards in line with company and group policies and procedures.
Essential skills and knowledge
* Experience in critical facilities operations required.
* Strong technical knowledge and background of Data Centre or Critical operations.
* Detailed understanding and experience of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a Data Centre environment.
* Strong understanding of CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems) and tools.
* Experience of managing escalation and emergency issues.
* Strong leadership skills with proven Line Management experience.
* Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally, maintaining client relations and providing excellent service.
* Ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure, solution-driven with strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
* Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound judgements.
* Willingness to work outside of normal hours to resolve issues in a 24/7 industry.
* Proficiency in IT including Microsoft Office and other business systems e.g. Microsoft Project, SharePoint.
