Job SummaryWe are looking for a new employee to be based in The Technical Manager will work within the Engineering Team, reporting to the Head of Engineering, Ireland, and will be responsible for leading the technical aspects of projects and design.
The Technical Manager champions continuous product development improvements and, in conjunction with other functions, analyses feedback and identifies and implements appropriate problem-solving techniques to improve the quality of manufactured products and overall effectiveness and efficiency of processes.
What a typical day looks like:Provide effective, timely and appropriate technical support to all departments from tender stage to final test and commissionHandle technical queries from clients and attend meetings where necessaryDevelop and monitor the technical aspects of in house and on-site test proceduresEnsure that technical data presented in Anord Mardix documentation is accurate and up to dateMinimise our exposure and risk by ensuring all aspects of design and build are compliant with the relevant product standards, customer specifications and country specific requirementsAssist with checks and approvals of electrical schematicsAssist the electrical design team with the creation of new circuits and bills of materialContribute to the development and improvement of Anord Mardix products and processesHighlight process deficiencies within the business, suggest improvements, and help bring them to fruitionProvide appropriate feedback when questions arise, internally and externally, in relation to the safety and integrity of product buildsSupport site services when issues or queries arise on siteContribute to the technical aspects of project submittalsDraft technical incidence reports in relation to on site or factory issuesHelp to source and champion new and alternative components that will improve our products performance and reliability, and lower our cost base in terms of material and labourBe involved in the selection of vendors and products for large scale projectsBuild and maintain effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and any other associated third partiesAssist with training of new employeesResponsible for all other technical duties assigned to youThe experience/qualification we're looking to add to our team:Be a degree qualified electrical engineer or an electrician, with at least 5 years' experience working in a similar industryPrevious Managerial/team lead experience is considered as great plusHave in depth knowledge of the electrical components used in the design and build of switchgear products.Ability to write clear, concise technical documents and reportsBe competent in IEC 61439 switchgear standardsUnderstand electrical single line diagrams and schematicsHave good communications skills and a positive, professional manner when liaising with clientsFamiliarity with AutoCad would be advantageousStrong team member with the ability to identify and drive implementation of innovative quality improvementsExceptional communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
