Job Specification: Remote Cost Engineer (Contract)
Role Overview: The Remote Cost Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting pharmaceutical new build projects. As a fully remote professional, you’ll collaborate with project teams to ensure effective cost management, accurate estimates, and timely reporting. Your expertise in cost engineering and project controls will contribute to successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities:
1. Cost Engineering and Project Controls:
Utilize at least 5 years of experience in cost engineering and project controls.Implement and evaluate earned value on projects, tracking progress for both home office and field construction projects.Proactively monitor and communicate budget, actual costs, and forecasted labor client and internal status reports that effectively convey cost the project manager and construction manager in developing accurate and timely estimates at completion.
2. Specific Expertise:
Demonstrate proficiency in cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, change management, risk management, and variance analysis.Resolve financial issues related to work breakdown structures.
3. Collaboration and Consultation:
Consult with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to formulate accurate estimates and resolve issues.Understand engineering and construction techniques and their cost impacts.Develop change notices promptly in connection with the project manager or construction manager.
Preferred Qualifications:
4. Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, Project Management, or Construction Management (or equivalent relevant work experience).
5. Collaborate with multi-disciplined groups (Engineering and/or Construction) to determine the Estimate at Completion (EAC), assess cost efficiency (CPI), and highlight potential risks to project completion.
6. Experience in cost engineering and project controls for EPCMV life-cycle projects in the Life Sciences and Bio-Pharma industry.
7. Proficiency in Advanced Excel and/or Power BI.
8. High emotional intelligence, team player mentality, and coachability.
9. Familiarity with Prolog and EPCMV project life cycles (both home office and field construction).
10. Knowledge of EcoSys.
