PM Group is a leading international engineering, architecture, project and construction management firm.
We are seeking to appoint a Group Head of Fire Engineering to support the business needs and continued growth of PM Group Design Projects across the globe.
This senior role will define strategies, interface with sub-consultants, insurers, design houses and operators to ensure designs adhere to local and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Liaise with clients, insurers and project teams to determine fire engineering deliverables and responsibilities on a project.
* Initiate pre-consultation meetings with fire certificate permitting authorities.
* Understand building functions for compliance and additional risks associated with process activities.
* Develop fire engineering strategies for projects using engineering principles and write technical reports.
* Apply national and international standards, such as Technical Guidance Document (TGD) B, BS, ADB, NFPA and IBC codes.
* Implement client insurer requirements and integrate these with local codes and regulations.
* Define RACI for fire compliance delivery on a project and translate this to basis of safety.
* Oversight of compliance to building regulations/codes of the region.
* Manage relationships and contracts with sub-consultants and regional bodies.
* Manage fire engineering sub-consultants and ensure they perform their scope of services.
* Liaise with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ's) or equivalent on particular projects.
* Lead fire reviews and project meetings, liaising with design teams for end-to-end project life-cycle approach.
* Promote living safety culture across PM Group projects.
* Foster and develop relationships with sub-consultants and within client teams.
* Support design teams globally by ensuring all projects have fire engineering aspects covered.
* Document best practices for all regions in this discipline.
* Travel as required, locally and internationally.
