As a Senior Business Partner you will be supporting business growth, program management, planning, governance and process improvement. The successful candidate will report to the VP of Business Development, Emisar. We are looking for people who can collaborate cross-functionally with various business and data analytics teams, demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, have proven business growth experience and the ability to manage multiple competing business projects at one time. Working Schedule:
Careers with Optum offer flexible work arrangements and individuals who live and work in the Republic of Ireland will have the opportunity to split their monthly work hours between our Dublin office and telecommuting from a home-based office in a hybrid work model.
Primary Responsibilities of the Associate Director, Business Development:
1. Apply commercial acumen to evaluate new opportunities, supporting business growth
2. Build pipeline of high-ROI, high-growth opportunities
3. Create and maintain a roadmap of opportunities and a pipeline of project initiatives
4. Prioritize projects based on feasibility and impact
5. Create and articulate business cases for highest impact opportunities
6. Develop recommendations to senior executives based on analyses to identify the highest value opportunities to pursue
7. Support initiatives spanning growth strategy, analytics strategy and operational excellence by directly scoping, initiating, planning, executing and controlling large complex strategy projects tied to high priority business objectives
8. Lead program management efforts, ensuring project success and alignment with business growth objectives
9. Monitor and report on key business metrics, providing strategic insights to senior leadership
10. Develop executive summary reports and high level documentation and overviews
11. Implement governance and process improvements to optimize cross functional operations, driving operational innovation and sustainable growth
12. Collaborate with data, technical, insights and analytics teams to enhance data-driven project outcomes
13. Develop cross-Optum and UHG relationships to develop new opportunities
14. Develop communication channels and ensure feedback loops
15. Support target operating model refinement as the organization scales

Required Qualifications of the Associate Director, Business Development:
1. Degree Qualified (BA, BS) in relevant business field (economics, business, finance) or equivalent experience
2. Commercial awareness and ability to influence growth strategies
3. Experience in a business strategy or business planning function
4. Proven experience in program management, governance, change management and process improvement
5. Proven ability to work collaboratively across a matrix environment to deliver business goals
6. Proven ability to develop and lead business projects with accountability of work to senior management level stakeholders
7. Experience working with technology and data teams with a strong analytical approach to problem solving
8. Ability to work within a changing environment or prior working experience in a start-up environment
9. Attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Advanced degree (e.g. MBA) or Master’s Degree equivalent
2. Financial background/ability to perform quantitative analysis
3. Experience in creating and using models to evaluate the quantitative impact of business decisions
4. Prior working experience in a consulting/advisory firm
5. Experience in managed health care, pharmacy benefit management, consulting or technology
6. Understanding of competitive landscape and familiarity with pharmaceuticals or healthcare industry
7. Experience in Product Management or Analytics
