Lending Manager | Permanent | Dublin / hybrid
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Lending Manager. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing and managing a portfolio of customers requiring finance for residential development projects.
You will oversee projects through the entire lending cycle, from initial enquiry to full repayment. The role requires a track record of detailed loan assessments, preparation of comprehensive loan reports, adherence to compliance standards, and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
1. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers seeking funding for residential developments.
2. Support borrowers in structuring loan proposals and ensuring a smooth lending process.
3. Loan Assessment and Reporting - Perform detailed evaluations of residential development projects.
4. Prepare clear and concise loan reports and make recommendations to the appropriate sanctioning authority.
5. Portfolio Management - Regularly review borrower relationships and funded developments.
6. Performance and Compliance - Meet lending targets within agreed timeframes and on commercial terms.
7. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and governance standards.
8. Cooperate with internal and external auditors as required.
9. Collaboration - Foster strong working relationships with internal teams such as Credit & Risk and external advisors including monitoring surveyors and property consultants.
Requirements
1. Minimum 5 years of experience in a financial institution, with a proven track record in residential lending.
2. Expertise in preparing funding proposals and achieving lending targets.
3. Strong knowledge of residential development lending products and markets.
4. Strong understanding of financing models, financial forecasts, and audited accounts.
5. Sound commercial judgment and awareness of the Irish residential market.
6. Familiarity with lending agreements, covenants, and security requirements.
7. Proven ability to deliver results and meet objectives.
8. Strong negotiation, organizational, and customer service skills.
9. Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate risks while structuring deals.
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
11. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
12. Degree in economics, finance, or a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional qualification.
