EHS Advisor - Construction Contractor - Cork City
Office/Project Location: Cork City

Our client is a leading Irish Contractor who undertakes projects throughout Ireland in large scale construction. They have successfully completed projects across a range of sectors including Civil, Residential, Data Centres, Hospitality, Commercial, Industrial, Healthcare, and Pharmaceutical.
You will be involved in developing, monitoring, and implementing the company’s EHS Management system, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety Regulations.
1. Implement the company's Environmental Health and Safety policy, procedures, and management systems.
2. Provide advice, guidance, and instruction in all health & safety matters to management, safety representatives, and employees (including sub-contractors where appropriate).
3. Ensure overall compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety statutory provisions & legislation.
4. Ensure good safety practices are managed and maintained.
5. Deliver Health & Safety training programmes such as inductions for new employees or sub-contractors working on site.
6. Coordinate the review and development of task-specific EHS documentation such as method statements, risk assessments, safe plan of actions, and permit to work.
7. Conduct regular inspections and site audits, report findings to site and senior company management. Strict follow-up is required to ensure that actions are dealt with immediately.
8. Ensure that all incidents are reported, recorded, investigated, and lessons learned communicated. Ensure notification is given to the Directors, Health & Safety Authority, and Insurers as required.
9. Ensure that safety interventions are completed & recorded. Adopt a proactive approach to project EHS requirements.
10. Carry out administrative duties to maintain the EHS Management systems such as maintaining registers, records, monthly reports, and reporting presentations to management where required.
11. Advise & assist site management in drafting and communicating EHS initiatives and Toolbox Talks.
12. Compile relevant information for inclusion in the Safety File and prepare for handover to the Client at the end of the project.
13. Promote the Company mission of being a healthy and incident and injury-free workplace.
Requirements
1. Hold a relevant third-level Qualification in Environmental, Health, and Safety.
2. Must have previous experience working on a large project.
3. Hold a full, clean Driving license.
4. Excellent IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office including strong Excel skills.
5. Ability to work on own initiative and exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Ability to demonstrate building strong working relationships & stakeholder management.
Package
Salary €55K - €70K and negotiable dependent on experience.
