Key Responsibilities as Project Manager
1. Positively and actively drive towards an embedded HS&E culture, creating a continually progressive culture that upholds our core value for Safety.
2. Liaising with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce involved in the project.
3. Lead all aspects of Project Team functions (PEP, Risk & Commercial Success, Financials, Processes, HSEQS, Stakeholder Management, Project Administration, Design Management & Project Close Out).
4. Compile and implement the Project Execution Plan, with specific reference to the HSE & Quality plan.
5. Prepare contract reports and, with the QS, provide updates to monthly cost meetings.
6. Review buildability and identify methods of construction with commercial or programme advantage where possible.
7. Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the construction of structures, facilities, and systems.
8. Develop project plans and schedules, executing plans to achieve agreed outcomes. Co-ordinate project activities in accordance with company Quality System, Standard Quality Procedures, and Engineering Specifications.
9. Manage the complete day-to-day life-cycle of projects from initial stages through to hand-over. Meet agreed objectives in timely delivery, cost, quality, and client satisfaction.
10. Achieve a 'right first time' philosophy throughout the project life cycle. Responsible for the successful delivery of projects through leadership, management, and technical & engineering expertise throughout the project life-cycle. Manage the day-to-day site operations of subcontractors on site.
11. Manage the workflow of sub-contractors ensuring alignment with the program of works on site.
12. Attend regular meetings with clients, architects, and consultants, keeping them informed of progress.
13. Quality management and BCAR co-ordination, overseeing quality control and safety matters on site and ensuring that regulations are adhered to.
14. Handle technical queries when necessary and interface with the client, consultant, and architect regarding RFIs.
Qualifications/Experience:
1. Degree in Engineering discipline, Civil, Structural, or Construction Management.
2. Experience – ideally within a main/specialist contractor.
3. Excellent communication skills.
4. Team player with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
5. Strong interpersonal skills.
6. Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of the construction industry and project execution.
7. Computer literate and familiar with MS Office, Project, (or similar scheduling package).
8. Good knowledge of safety management and quality management.
9. Ability to lead with confidence, mentor, and motivate staff under them.
