We are currently recruiting for a Caretaker/Maintenance Technician to join our PPP Schools team in Kells, Co. Meath. This is a full time, temporary role and will be subject to Garda Vetting whilst flexibility will be required as the successful candidate will work shifts in an effort to cover early mornings and evenings.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To assist and support the Facilities Manager in providing day to day operational management for all services within a portfolio of buildings and to supervise facilities personnel as required. This is an active and visible role requiring excellent customer relationship skills. Working as part of a team, the Technician will be expected to positively contribute to the performance of the business and to develop relationships with both the client and their colleagues.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Support the Facilities Manager in promoting a culture of excellent customer service and establishing excellent working relationships with the client.
2. Assist the Facilities Manager in reviewing existing services, specifications, processes, productivity levels and quality control to secure and increase the efficient use of resources.
3. Ability to be proactive and identify building faults by applying an immediate fix or making an area safe and contacting the appropriate contractor.
4. Management of subcontractors on site and adherence to company contractor management guidelines.
5. Assist the Facilities Manager in undertaking regular site and service inspection tours and identifying areas on non-adhered to quality standards as appropriate.
6. Ensure that all health and safety legislation and company policies are adhered to, within own level of responsibility (to include undertaking role of Fire Warden and/or First Aider, as required).
7. Adhering to client requests in a timely manner with strong customer focus.
8. Flexibility in working shifts, with potential for late closing or early opening, depending on the client's requirements.
Additional Role Information
1. Experienced Maintenance Technician is highly desirable, ideally with a mixed skillset.
2. Extensive maintenance experience within a busy environment, minimum of 3 years.
3. Exposure to Facilities Management and/or Engineering environments ideal.
4. Detail orientated and highly organised.
5. The role requires a high volume of physical activity, covering large site grounds as well as a high volume of manual handling.
6. Proven experience in a similar role.
