Kavangh and Associates is a long-established Kildare / Dublin practice, with a significant portfolio of residential / commercial / industrial projects. We are seeking to expand our team with the role of a suitably qualified and registered architect for a full-time position in our Newbridge office.
Role Description
The role will be that of an Architect or the tasks commensurate to those as set out in the RIAI Agreement for Professional Services or most recent circular to include but not specifically related to the following responsibilities:
1. Assist / assess the client brief and project goals to develop clients requirements.
2. Preliminary design sketches incorporating the specific client’s needs and budget.
3. Prepare developed design and prepare statutory consent applications / exempted declarations as necessary.
4. Managing another team member or work as part of a team.
5. Review all work with regards to current building regulations and planning and development act.
6. Prepare detailed design and construction detail packages for tendering.
7. Advise clients of various contracts available and prepare same.
8. Preparation of Inspection Plan and implementation of same.
9. Preparation of valuation and site inspection reports following visits.
10. Advise where remedial works are required following site visit and inspect same on completion.
11. Client communication.
Requirements
1. Ideally 4 years post-graduate experience.
2. Full recognised Irish qualification and registration with relevant body.
3. Attention to detail, strong technical and construction knowledge is essential for this role.
4. A good understanding of the statutory consent processes (Planning, FIRE Safety Certificates, Disability Access Certificates, BC(A)R, and current Building Regulations).
5. Compiling and submitting planning applications in hard copy as well as knowledge of the Planning e-Portal and Building Control Management System (BCMS).
6. Experience of working on a wide range of projects but main body of experience to be in private residential projects – new build one off and developments / renovation / extension projects.
7. Experience of contracts and administration of same.
8. Experience in on-site inspections and construction quality reviews.
9. Ambitious, self-motivated with excellent communication, organisation, and presentation skills.
10. Previous success leading and managing projects from start to finish.
11. Excellent communication, presentation, and client liaison skills.
12. Full proficiency in AutoCAD / Revit and Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
13. Full proficiency in Photoshop, Lumion or other modelling / 3D software desirable.
14. Full clean driving license and own transport necessary.
