Main Purpose of Job: To assist in the preparation, cooking and service of all hotel food, This is a challenging position for a highly motivated, hardworking individual interested in developing themselves in the hospitality industry.
Main Responsibilities: Kitchen Operations: o To assist the kitchen team in the preparation, cooking and service of all hotel food.
o To minimise the amount of wastage.
o To learn & understand the kitchen H.A.C.C.P plan.
o To work in a clean & hygienic manner at all times.
o To be responsible for the cleaning of designated work area in the kitchen before finishing shift.
o To operate any machinery correctly and ensure adherence to health and safety procedures at all times.
o To use all cleaning chemicals as directed.
o To adhere to all recycling procedures within the department when disposing of all kitchen waste.
o To be responsible for the routine cleaning of designated areas such as staff canteens when required.
Customer Service: o To provide an efficient and friendly service to guests at all times o To follow the Mespil Hotel key standards at all times o To provide a warm and friendly telephone service to guests o To maintain a positive, friendly attitude with both hotel guests and your colleagues Health and Safety: o To abide by the hotels health, safety and environmental procedures.
o To report any health, safety or environmental hazards within the hotel o To report any accidents, incidents and near misses that arise while on duty Presentation and Grooming: o Wearing the correct uniform at all times while on duty o Ensuring a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming at all times Other Duties o Attend relevant training courses as required.
o Serve on hotel committees when required.
o Carry out any other duties as directed by management.
o Assist in other departments when necessary.
o Contribute to the hotel's sustainability efforts by reducing waste, improving energy efficiency, and reducing water consumption.
