Overview of the Department of Cyber Innovate:
Munster Technological University (MTU) is a multi-campus technological university, contributing to the region through the provision of academic programmes that support student development and opportunities, education and research. MTU has an extensive and impressive regional footprint with six campuses across the South-West region in Cork and Kerry, and a student body of 18,000.
Munster Technological University wishes to appoint a Programme Coordinator at the MTU at Grade VII, to manage an initiative funded by Enterprise Ireland Innovators Initiative, called Cyber Innovate.
Cyber Innovate Programme Coordinator Responsibilities:
The Cyber Innovate Programme Coordinator will have responsibility for supporting the Programme Director in the co-ordination and management of all aspects of the training, mentoring and teaching of the Cyber Innovate programme. The candidate must be willing to work flexible hours and travel nationally, mainly during September to November, and occasionally internationally and have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
Main duties will include but not limited to:
1. Coordinate the immersive environment between students and industry immersive environment partners.
2. Coordinate the recruitment and student selection process.
3. Coordinate the schedule of mentors, trainers, steering committee meetings, advisory panel meetings and guest speakers.
4. Manage the travel budget and all travel and accommodation requirements for the students.
5. Implement and co-ordinate a student alumni programme.
6. Liaise with the Department of Computer Science, HEA Cyber Skills initiative and Department of Management and Enterprise in relation to the academic provision of the programme.
7. Manage administrative aspects such as tracking of invoices, student recruitment, enrolment, student feedback, immersive environment partner feedback, etc.
8. Organise events and lead on marketing and promotion including the Cyber Innovate website and CRM platform.
9. Co-ordinate the activities of the administrator.
10. Support the writing of reports, reviews and audits.
Qualification Requirements and Selection Criteria for role:
Essential Criteria:
1. Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in academia/industry.
2. Excellent organisational, administration and documentation skills.
3. Proven project and programme management abilities.
4. Excellent IT, communication and presentation skills.
5. Fluency in spoken and written English.
6. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
7. Experience of working to tight deadlines, multi-tasking and managing different and conflicting demands.
8. Excellent interpersonal skills and service-mindedness with the ability to interface collegially and effectively with others and foster good working relationships.
Desirable Criteria:
1. Ideally the post holder will hold a qualification in Project Management.
2. An appropriate third-level qualification at NFQ level 8 or above or equivalent industry experience.
3. Demonstrated experience in process development and improvement.
4. Experience using a CRM.
5. Experience in working in the cybersecurity sector or Innovation/startup environment.
6. Experience of managing a university or educational programme/initiative.
7. Knowledge and understanding of cybersecurity and the cybersecurity sector in Ireland.
Remuneration, Benefits and Facilities:
Terms of the Appointment
Salary Scale Grade VII as at €58,252 to €75,729 per annum (includes 2 long service increments).
3 year fixed-term, whole-time contract – 35 hours per week.
Annual leave: 29 days per annum
