ICU Foundation 6 month CPD Course, March 2025
Applications are invited for a 6 month post-registration education nursing programme in Intensive Care Nursing commencing in March 2025. Critical Care experience is desirable, not essential. Candidates may also be panelled for HDU staff nurse positions.
There are exciting career opportunities for qualified and experienced nurses available in the Mater Hospital’s critical care service. As one of Ireland's leading intensive care services, we provide specialist intensive care medicine services, including national specialty services of cardiac surgery, heart and lung transplantation, spinal surgery, and extracorporeal life support. We also treat obstetric emergencies from the Rotunda Hospital, as well as a broad range of general emergency referrals from within and outside our catchment area.
We are looking to recruit highly motivated ICU staff nurses to join our critical care team. Excellent opportunities await successful applicants to develop and consolidate their Acute Care skills with the support of an experienced senior team. Critical Care has a team of designated Staff Development Facilitators who support the learning and development needs of all staff, providing them with the essential knowledge and skills to work within this department.
The successful candidates will help to ensure that a caring, creative environment is achieved, paying attention to the highest possible quality of nursing care. The staff nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to the highest professional and ethical standards within the model of nursing care practiced in the hospital.
Our Nurses work as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team along with Health Care Assistants, Doctors, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Porters, Occupational Therapists, Radiographers, Catering Staff and Administration staff.
In the MMUH we pride ourselves on our educational opportunities and offer a wide range of courses through our in-house Centre of Nurse Education and Post Graduate opportunities through our Academic partner University College Dublin.
