An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper to join a dynamic accounting practice in Roscommon. This is a maternity cover role where you will take on a variety of responsibilities and gain valuable experience.
The Role
* Process invoices, receipts, and payments.
* Maintain and reconcile company accounts.
* Prepare VAT returns and assist with tax compliance.
* Provide accurate financial records for internal review.
Responsibilities
* Welcome clients and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor.
* Manage incoming calls and correspondence.
* Schedule appointments and maintain the office calendar.
* Assist with preparation of reports and documentation.
* Handle ad hoc administrative tasks as required.
Requirements
* Previous bookkeeping experience, preferably within an accounting practice.
* Strong knowledge of bookkeeping software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
* Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* Outstanding organisational and time-management skills.
* A friendly and professional attitude to manage front-of-house duties effectively.
