Quality Control Specialist SSC, 18 month ftc Overview This role is responsible for standing up and overseeing a governance process for the SSC (Shared Services Centre) that provides assurance to key senior stakeholders, in conjunction with the SSC Functional Leads across Finance and HR, that the internal control environment is fit for purpose for a plc.
Critical for this role is the ability to apply your deep knowledge of Finance and business process to the design of the overall internal control environment and the ability to influence and pivot as the business and SSC process changes and new services evolve within the SSC.
Key relationships to develop will be with our BPO partners as well as Internal and External Audit.
The opportunity Establish a governance process to understand, document, monitor compliance to, report on, respond to and improve the control and financial risks associated with the SSC operating model across Finance, Business Services, People Services Organization and any future new service towers.Hold the SSC towers accountable for execution of key controls across the SSC and establish a process to track Management Actions Plans agreed with Internal Audit and External Audit through the Service Management Function.In conjunction with the SSC Functional Leads, put in place ongoing monitoring of compliance to key control across the end-to-end process and report periodically to key stakeholders on any non-compliance, trends, and actions.Key point of approval for any key control design necessitated by changes in the SSC business driven by process change initiated by the retained Glanbia team and/or the BPO offshore team, M&A activity/integrations, etc.Through the development of an external network, bring best practice from a control perspective to Glanbia, including monitoring any changes to regulations that need to be responded to.Stand up a robust process to assure compliance to the key control execution by the extended Glanbia SSC Finance Team across the internal retained team and the BPO outsourced team activities.Lead the review of any actual fraud activity whether giving rise to a loss or near misses to conclude on whether key controls were breached, root cause, preventative actions as well as reporting across Glanbia to policy.Owner of Glanbia standard control process confirmation across Control Self-Assessment, GRC, etc.Key member of the SSC governance forums to ensure control compliance.Build strong cross-functional relationships to provide guidance and support from a control perspective to SSC and BU Finance.Own and lead transformation changes within the control environment, supporting ad hoc projects/continuous improvement, etc.The skills you will bring to the team Professional Accounting Qualification.
Ideally a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (finance, accounting).5+ years relevant experience, preferably a combination of 'Big 4' practice experience but critically demonstrated post qualification experience in an operational finance function with exposure to a broad range of finance processes in a multinational environment.Commercial and pragmatic approach to change, recommendations, and business case development.Understanding of the design of financial controls and the business impact of non-performance.Demonstrated experience of managing expectations of a broad senior stakeholder group is critical.Improvement mindset with demonstrated experience of digital finance tools and transformation in a finance function.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate in fluent English, in a clear manner to colleagues and customers.High attention to detail is essential.Ability to work unsupervised, to work as part of a global team, and to take responsibility for the prioritization and completion of tasks.Strong Excel, analytical, and SAP skills are a requirement.Ability to remain calm under pressure and instill confidence in stakeholders and external support partners.Eager to self-learn and take ownership of your career.The energy, enthusiasm, and drive to make it happen.A team player who has the ability to motivate others, making it fun while getting the job done.Enjoys working in a fast-paced, innovative environment where the focus is on continuous improvement.Adaptable and flexible in approach to work.Where and how you will work The opportunity can be based in Citywest, Dublin 24, with a requirement to be onsite each week with hybrid working arrangements available through our Smart working model, which allows you a greater choice in how you work and live, giving you a better work-life balance.
