About the Role
This Compliance Officer AVP role is based in Ireland and provides compliance advisory support as the second line of defence for the Irish entities providing products and services including Depositary, Custody, Fund Administration, Transfer Agency, Middle Office and Global Delivery functions of State Street.
Responsibilities
* Assist and support the Ireland Compliance Advisory team in the assessment of Compliance risks and the successful and timely execution of the Compliance Oversight Program
* Prepare, coordinate, and monitor communications with the Central Bank of Ireland, developing and maintaining relationships with the business
* Review and analyse regulatory and advisory activities, risk assessments and assist in the design, oversight and execution of testing activities to ensure a robust and comprehensive monitoring and testing plan
* Actively engage with the business unit in relation to their regulatory obligations, fostering an open, co-operative relationship, providing advisory support to assist with regulatory queries, and ensuring closure of any Compliance issues within a timely manner
* Keep abreast of regulatory and legislative updates or changes
* Contribute to analysis and interpretation of the regulation and legislation (new and current as required)
* Provide feedback to peers and business stakeholders, as required
* Assist with the preparation of written reports for Senior Management on the Compliance Risk Opinion and delivery of the Compliance Programme, indicating progress achieved and any significant matters requiring attention
* Support the Compliance Senior Management through the preparation and review of materials for various governance forums and attendance at these meetings
* Engage in and participate with clients during their due diligence reviews

Education & Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Business, Legal) or relevant professional qualification or experience
* Professional designation in Compliance or similar compliance, legal or regulatory qualification an advantage
* Minimum 5 years experience in financial services industry, specific experience in a the funds industry in a related field an advantage
* Strong IT skills (Outlook, Word and Excel)
