Our client based in Longford is seeking a Materials Management Coordinator to join their team on a 12 month contract. Primary Function: The Purchasing Support Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and executing day-to-day operations to ensure manufacturing materials are available as requested.
The role aims to consistently achieve high standards of cost and quality compliance while maintaining excellent customer service.
Additionally, the role will focus on sustainability, business strategy, gross margin improvement, and lean principles to drive overall efficiency and effectiveness.
Major Responsibilities: Conduct business in an ethically sound manner that protects human health, safety, and the environment by complying with all applicable EHS laws, as well as Abbott Global and Technical standards.Process daily purchase orders.Follow orders from PO to delivery stage to corresponding invoice through the SAP system.Manage inventory using onsite inventory management systems.Work with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials.Measure supplier performance in line with Longford Key Supplier Metrics (e.g., Supplier on Time in Full).Implement sustainable sourcing practices to minimize environmental impact.Implement lean supply chain practices to reduce costs and improve service levels.Ensure adherence to weekly PO maintenance and correct levels of safety stocks.Ensure raw material continuity of supply throughout the supply chain.Provide visibility to weekly and monthly material availability issues.Operate all material handling equipment, such as hand pallet trucks.Conduct cycle counting.Attend meetings to update areas on usage and communicate any problems effectively.Demonstrate Longford Behavioural standards in all dealings and work effectively as part of the purchasing/warehousing team.Ensure compliance with all applicable quality requirements.Adhere to all GMP requirements.Maintain ETMS to-do list.Education & Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.Skills & Competencies: Strong negotiation and communication skills.Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Accountability: Ensure the availability of materials to meet production requirements.Maximize cost-effectiveness through strong sourcing activities and developed supplier relationships.Work under the general direction of the Manager.For a confidential discussion and more information on the role, please contact Emma Daly: ****** 0861041202
