Role Summary: A well-established organisation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to oversee all financial aspects of the business and drive financial strategy and planning.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the manufacturing sector and will play a key role in supporting strategic decisions and ensuring robust financial management.
Key Responsibilities: Manage and oversee all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial reporting.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts with detailed variance analysis.
Monitor key financial KPIs and deliver insights to support operational and strategic decisions.
Maintain accurate costing systems and ensure product margins are well understood and safeguarded.
Collaborate with department leads to support cost control initiatives and operational efficiencies.
Ensure compliance with statutory obligations including indirect taxes, payroll, and audit requirements.
Lead and develop the finance team, fostering best practices and continuous improvement.
Direct the annual budgeting and long-term financial planning processes.
Coordinate with external stakeholders such as auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
Oversee stock valuation processes across materials, work-in-progress, and finished inventory.
Maintain and review inventory costing methodologies (e.g.
standard, weighted average, FIFO), ensuring alignment with operational activities.
Lead inventory controls, including periodic stock takes and cycle counts, and investigate variances.
Analyse and report on inventory performance, including slow-moving or obsolete stock, and recommend adjustments.
Ensure inventory is accurately reflected in both management and statutory accounts.
Uphold internal controls and risk management standards.
Provide financial input on capital projects, funding opportunities, and regulatory reporting.
Requirements: Minimum of 5 years experience in a senior finance role, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
Strong commercial acumen and understanding of production-related cost structures.
