Our client is a leading supplier of seafood to Irish retailers, as well as exporters to Europe and the US. Encompassing four brands in Ireland and part of an international group, the Company headquarters are based in Dublin.
Due to the continued success of the business, the Company is now seeking a Sustainability, Health & Safety and Compliance Manager to join the management team.
This key appointment will involve the day-to-day management of all environmental related activities along with a series of sustainability and health & safety based projects. There will be a requirement to visit the 3 sites locations in Dublin on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Taking lead on all sustainability projects
* Directing site activities towards achieving energy, carbon, water, and waste reduction targets, through measuring, analysis, and reporting programmes
* Capture, analysis and reporting of all relevant data relating to effluent, energy, water, waste, and sustainability
* Measurement and verification of energy related projects
* Work with cross-functional teams to maintain environmental management and monitoring programmes
* Complete site energy/environmental audits to identify opportunities for improvement and improve sites resilience to climate change
* Liaise with the group environmental team on upcoming sustainability projects and strategies
* Develop and maintain company EHS standards, policies, systems and programs applicable to our projects
* Provide EHS leadership and direction for management, professional, technical and support staff across the site
* Ensure systems are in place to enable site to operate in legal and ethical compliance with regard to ESG issues
* Promote employee awareness / training on matters of environment, health and safety
* Develop health and safety systems and procedures to prevent occupational injuries and illnesses, and enhance the overall site safety culture resulting in management engagement, employee involvement and the reduction in unsafe conditions and behaviours
* Perform facility audits, surveys and inspections to identify environmental, safety and occupational hazards and weaknesses
* Other duties as assigned by senior management
Requirements:
* Third level qualification in a relevant field
* 2+ years’ experience working on related projects
* Highly organised and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
* Conscientious, highly focused and detail orientated
* Self-starter with the ability to build relationships with all stakeholders
* Excellent communication skills
* Full clean driver’s license essential
