Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the EHS assessment and approval of all process and equipment changes for the site in line with Process Safety Protocols.
2. Ensure compliance with Lower Tier SEVESO and ATEX requirements by providing tailored EHS support to dedicated site operations.
3. Stay on top of regulatory changes and provide direction to site operations to ensure full compliance with Health and Safety legislation, including ISO45001 and ISO14001 standards.
4. Develop and implement EHS strategies in collaboration with operational area and functional managers, ensuring seamless integration of safety protocols.
5. Act as the EHS business partner for core operations, helping to foster a proactive safety culture throughout the organisation.
6. Support the digitisation of EHS systems, including chemical management and high-risk work programs.
7. Maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities, external stakeholders, and local management to ensure ongoing compliance and best practices.
8. Contribute to Corporate Responsibility/Sustainability goals while actively seeking opportunities to improve site safety performance.
9. Lead audits, inspections, and the compilation of EHS metrics and KPIs data to monitor and improve site safety performance.
What We Are Looking For:
1. Essential: A degree or diploma in Process Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, or a relevant engineering/science discipline.
2. Desirable: Experience in COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards), chemical management systems, air quality management programs, and ergonomic industry design principles.
3. Proven track record in regulatory interactions, including licensing applications and compliance.
4. Expertise in project and program management, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and large-scale industry programs.
5. Solid understanding of H&S legislation and industry best practices.
6. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to write technical reports effectively.
7. Ability to prioritise work and manage deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
8. A flexible, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
9. Desirable: Technical ability with digital systems and data management.
