Location: Galway (with travel to sites in Connacht and Midlands) Package -Basic c.€80k-100k + Bonus up to 10% Pension + Vehicle/allowance + package (Negotiable DOE) Reporting into - Legal Director/Commercial Director The Client and overview of the role: My Client are a Connaght-based c.€180M turnover Main Contractor that take on Public Works, Commercial and Residential projects across Connacht and Leinster.
They are a well-known business that have been trading in excess of 100 years.
This Company have won numerous Awards over the years and are searching for an experience Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor due to recent Contract wins.
As this is an established, close-knit team, we're also looking for someone who enjoys being part of a team, takes pride in what they do and seeing others do well.
You'll be reporting in to a Commercial Director/Legal Director and will have the support of a Junior/Intermediate QS.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take full commercial responsibility for managing projects from inception to completion.
You will be self-sufficient, handling cost control, procurement, and subcontractor management while mentoring junior QSs within the team.
Key Responsibilities: Manage all commercial aspects of the project, ensuring cost efficiency and budget control.
Oversee cost reporting, forecasting, and financial tracking across multiple projects.
Lead procurement activities, negotiating contracts, tenders, and subcontracts.
Manage and mentor junior QSs, providing guidance and support where needed.
Conduct valuations, variations, and final accounts for subcontractor and supplier packages.
Monitor cash flow and project profitability, ensuring risks are mitigated.
Work closely with the Head of Commercial, project managers, and site teams.
Prepare monthly cost reports and advise on financial risks and opportunities.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and Irish construction regulations.
Requirements: 7+ years experience as a Quantity Surveyor Proven ability to manage projects independently and handle Commercial responsibilities.
Previous experience in mentoring or managing junior QSs would be great!
Strong knowledge of Irish construction contracts, procurement, and cost control.
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
