Our client, a leading Building & Civil Engineering contractor with extensive operations in various sectors across Ireland and the UK, is now recruiting a Project Manager- Life Sciences due to securing new contracts.
The successful Project Manager will oversee Life Sciences projects from commencement to completion in Cork/Munster.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the project team to drive high performance throughout the project
* Ensure all PSCS requirements are met and Health & Safety standards on site are maintained at the highest level
* Understand and be familiar with contract documents, drawings, specifications, BOQ, etc.
* Develop and maintain collaborative and professional relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
* Manage client expectations, ensuring they are met
* Track progress and ensure the contract is completed on schedule
* Monitor Sub-Contractor performance in relation to Health and Safety, Quality, Cost, and Programme
* Liaise and work with the Quantity Surveyor to manage costs on the project and ensure targets are achieved
* Maintain positive communication with the public and regulatory bodies regarding queries/complaints
* Champion high ISO standards, ensuring site activities are coordinated in accordance with the company's systems and procedures
* Provide regular accurate reporting to the Construction Director, advising of progress on site and issues affecting targets and objectives for the project
* Identify and propose areas for improvement in the Company's processes
* Manage the Design Team, critiquing and challenging the design while ensuring information is available for procurement as required
* Manage and organise the Site Team, ensuring clear programme and quality targets are communicated and delivered
* Commit to maximising value for the client and deliver projects on time and within budget
* Work proactively with the Commercial team to manage costs on the project and ensure targets are achieved
* Plan for all purchasing and sub-contractor appointments
* Attend and chair effective management team meetings
* Attend pre-qualification interviews for new contracts as and when required
* Represent the company at client/consultant progress meetings, preparing and responding to the requirements of the meetings
* Manage an effective process to ensure the as-built document process and handover file and BCAR is delivered on time
* Support and advise the Project QS/QS in the preparation and agreement of final accounts
* Complete any other duties as assigned by Management
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years experience in Life Science / Industrial experience (preferable but not essential)
* Relevant Third-level Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent required
* Strong commercial acumen, with a good knowledge of current technical building regulations
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
* Proactive, with strong problem-solving ability
* Straight talking and takes responsibility
* Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to lead and motivate QEHS Management Skills
* Excellent IT Skills, proficient in MS Office and the use of MS Project and other PM planning tools
