Purpose: We are currently recruiting a Pastry Chef to join our client based in Midleton, a multinational hotel chain expanding their workforce within their location.
The ideal candidate will possess previous experience as a Pastry Chef, preferably in a 4* hotel environment, and be HACCP trained with a focus on hygiene. They should also have a flair for presentation, excellent attention to detail, and a professional appearance. The successful candidate must be able to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen environment.
Main Responsibilities:
* Operate and manage the pastry section of the kitchen, liaising with the Head Chef to ensure a smooth working environment.
* Prepare ingredients and handle baking and other kitchen equipment.
* Create pastries, baked goods, and confections by following a set recipe.
* Develop new recipes for seasonal menus.
* Decorate pastries and desserts to ensure beautiful and tasteful presentation.
* Monitor and order stock.
* Ensure the pastry section adheres to safety and health regulations.
* Train staff members when needed.
* Have the ability to work in various kitchen sections if required.
* Ensure all dishes are prepared in a timely fashion.
* Operate in a safe and responsible manner using recognized techniques.
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Pastry Chef, preferably in a 4* hotel environment.
* HACCP training and hygiene focused.
* A flair for presentation.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Professional appearance and positive work attitude.
* Ability to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen environment.
Working Conditions:
* 5 over 7 days shift pattern.
