The Role
We are looking for a Mechanical Technician to join our team in Co.Kildare. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our production operations, minimizing downtime, and supporting a high-performance manufacturing environment. You will also play a key role in maintaining and improving our preventative maintenance program.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure smooth and efficient workflow to meet production targets in collaboration with the Director of Operations.
* Perform mechanical repairs on high-speed, PLC-controlled processing, handling, and packaging equipment.
* Execute and enhance the preventative maintenance program through scheduled PMs based on risk assessment and reliability analysis.
* Minimize equipment downtime by responding quickly to breakdowns, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing effective problem-solving techniques.
* Monitor and manage spare parts usage to ensure availability for maintenance needs.
* Fabricate mechanical components, replace seals and mechanical seals, and verify pump alignments to maintain optimal equipment performance.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment efficiency and reliability.
* Support the production team by providing technical advice, assisting with training, and promoting cross-skilling.
* Ensure all maintenance requests and tasks are documented within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
* Review and coordinate maintenance plans with stakeholders to optimize resource allocation.
Skills & Experience:
* 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
* Senior Trade Qualification or National Diploma/Degree in Mechatronics, Fitting, or Maintenance.
* Strong knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs, Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, and Profibus communication protocols.
* Understanding of ATEX zoned areas and equipment.
* Familiarity with SCADA systems.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP/CRM systems, and Outlook is desirable.
