This is achieved by helping each service user reach their full potential, working in partnership with their families and carers, within the community.
Role Overview
The Support Worker Residential Services Skibbereen role is a permanent contract position, requiring 32 hours of work per week. The role offers Saturday Allowance and Sunday Premiums.
The closing date for applications is Friday, January 2025. Please note that a 12-month panel may be formed from these interviews, which could lead to future positions being filled.
Job Purpose
The Adult Services Centres aim to develop a range of skills, increasing innovation, independence, and a sense of achievement for people using our services.
The programmes include vocational training and social and recreational activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Instructor and/or Social Care Leader in planning, developing, implementing, and reviewing specified programmes in line with the organisation's ethos.
* Directly support and assist individuals in completing daily living tasks, including personal care (clothing, feeding, toileting, and general hygiene).
Person Specification
* Essential Qualifications:
o FETAC level 5 in Healthcare or an equivalent qualification.
o A relevant qualification in Learning Disabilities, Social Studies, Social Sciences, Nursing, or Childcare.
* First Aid FETAC level 6 Train the Trainer qualification.
* Essential Skills:

o A positive attitude.
* Ability to carry out intimate and personal care with service users who have varying needs.
* Ability to support someone in learning new skills and maintaining current skills and ability.
