Role Description
The QA Project Manager defines, develops, budgets, implements, documents and manages the bank's strategic, important and/or cross-functional enterprise-wide technology projects. The role focuses on meeting project commitments, including communications with sponsors, stakeholders, etc. Spends significant time on project management tasks, coordination’s, managing schedules, risks and issues. As assigned, leads or assists in the planning, implementation and introduction of projects for new systems and technologies.
Role Objectives
1. Leads planning, execution and/or implementation of projects through all phases, tasks and timelines.
2. Facilitates the definition of project missions, goals, tasks, funding and resource requirements.
3. Completes projects or assigned tasks in accordance with defined project management methodology.
4. Manages Project Budget & Resource allocation and utilization.
5. Monitors project progress and provides regular status updates to management.
6. Manages vendors, negotiates/defines initial contracts, resolves issues, and provides ongoing communication; tracks deliverables.
7. Participates, where necessary, in requirements gathering/elicitation, design and/or testing phases.
8. Resolves or assists in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects or functional areas; implements changes where applicable.
9. Submits CR's (Change Requests) and SML's (System Maintenance Logs) as part of the change management process.
10. Ensures project closure activities are completed, including completion of all tasks, final updates to Schedule, closure of all risks/issues and archival of all documentation.
11. Assist with All QA Departments initiatives.
12. Mentor Junior Project Managers.
13. Conduct Process Quality Reviews.
Qualifications and Skills
14. Formal project management expertise and knowledge of project management methodology/SDLC/PLC processes in IT financial services environments.
15. Experience in managing complex IT processes and projects across multiple business and technical areas
16. Demonstrated working knowledge of end-to-end IT processes
17. Ability to influence people outside the immediate span of control, negotiate and resolve conflicts, and work with business users, IT partners and vendors
18. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to articulate concepts and ideas to diverse audiences
19. Able to work well autonomously and be a complete self-starter
20. Experience working with technology vendors to implement application, infrastructure or security product solutions
21. 5 to 7 years of specialized experience in Financial Services
