The Regulatory & Information team is seeking a Solicitor with expertise in regulatory law and information law, particularly in data protection and Freedom of Information (FOI).
This role offers exposure to a wide range of high-profile matters, advising clients on complex regulatory and compliance issues.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing contentious and non-contentious regulatory advice across various disciplines, including food law, health and safety law, consumer law, state aid law, and information law.
* Handling investigations, administrative law matters, and ensuring compliance with fair procedures.
* Offering legislative interpretation and advisory services.
* Advising clients on data breaches and responding to inquiries from the Data Protection Commission.
* Guiding clients on cyber-attacks and advising on privacy, data protection, and GDPR matters.
* Assisting with Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and Access to Information on the Environment (AIE).
* Conducting gap analysis, risk assessments, and data protection impact assessments.
* Providing ongoing support to other business units and delivering client training as required.
Requirements for the ideal candidate:
* Qualified Solicitor or Barrister in Ireland or the UK.
* 5+ years of experience in regulatory advisory work, with a particular interest in data protection law.
* Strong commercial awareness and ability to tailor legal advice to meet client needs.
* Excellent technical, drafting, and communication skills.
* Strong legal research and analytical skills.
* Able to work independently and as part of a team.
* High level of motivation and commitment to ongoing learning and development.
* In-depth knowledge and expertise in public administrative law and data protection law.
