Supply Chain Manager (Chemicals) – Dublin
Our client is a leading supplier of Chemicals & ingredients across a range of sectors from Life Sciences, Pharma, Biopharma, Food & Beverages and Industrial. They are currently seeking to recruit a Supply Chain Manager to join their very established & successful team. The Supply Chain Manager shall report to the Managing Director and have 1 person directly reporting to them. The ideal person shall have 5+ years’ experience working in an organisation dealing with multiple suppliers and has previous experience in providing Chemical Supply chain solutions to customers in a highly regulated sector. Sourcing, purchasing & vendor management of chemicals utilised in the Food, Beverage & Pharma/Biopharma Sectors is a distinct advantage. The Supply Chain Manager shall provide both supply chain oversight & purchasing oversight across the business and therefore be a very strong leader with excellent troubleshooting abilities. This person will work cross-functionally with the various divisions within the organisation to provide a quality service to their customers. This role will be based on site in Baldoyle, Dublin full time.
Role/Responsibilities:
* Manage the company’s day-to-day purchasing activities across Ireland and UK branches.
* Oversee supply chain logistics (domestic and overseas) in particular
o Managing any delays, non-conformances, damages etc.
o Troubleshooting and managing all supply chain issues
* Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
* Inventory and supply chain coordination –
o Collaborate with warehousing and sales to develop metrics for stock management, control and planning
o Manage and monitor slow moving stock & short shelf life
* Product Strategy and Planning - Sourcing new products / secondary sourcing existing products as required
* Market Research and Analysis - understanding customer needs, industry trends, and competitor offerings.
* Supplier and Vendor Management
* Sales and Marketing Support
* Compliance and Regulatory Adherence
* Drive improvement and define relevant KPIs across the supply chain with a view to cost savings and improving customer service
Quality:
* Assist with maintenance of ISO 9001/GDP/FEMAS Quality Standards
Health & Safety:
* Comply with H&S policies.
Education/Experience:
* Minimum of 5 years proven working experience in a purchasing role
* Proven history of developing effective inventory management policies
* Sourcing and vendor management.
* Negotiation and networking experience
* Ability to gather and analyse data.
* Solid judgement along with decision making skills
* Advanced MS Excel skills
* Experience in purchasing chemicals is preferred
