Job Summary: The Accommodation Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of accommodation facilities, ensuring a high standard of service and customer satisfaction. This role involves managing staff and handling administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the accommodation services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage Accommodation Facilities: Oversee the day-to-day operations of accommodation facilities, including room allocations, housekeeping etc., ensuring that all accommodation areas are well maintained, clean, and organized.
2. Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise accommodation staff, ensuring they provide excellent customer service. Ensure that all areas conduct pre-shift briefings prior to the commencement of each shift to ensure continuity and consistency of information. Ensure that team member uniform standards and grooming standards are met at all times. Develop, implement, record, and maintain departmental standards. Ensure that accommodation supervisors continually inspect their assigned areas and turn in their room inspection checklists.
3. Customer Service: Address guest inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive experience for all guests.
4. Budget Management: Monitor and manage budgets, including expenses related to maintenance, staffing, and supplies. Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and control costs within the department.
5. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all accommodation facilities comply with health and safety regulations.
6. Interdepartmental Relationships: Coordinate with maintenance staff to address any issues promptly and ensure facilities are well-maintained. Liaise with reception regarding daily arrivals and departure lists, weekly forecasts, and any other special requests, and coordinate with all relevant departments.
7. Administrative Tasks: Handle administrative duties such as record-keeping, reporting, and inventory management - maintain control of equipment, supplies, and guest inventory, ensuring responsible team members maintain inventory levels and replenish them as necessary. Supervise the allocation of work assignments to Housekeeping Assistants to ensure maximum coverage and liaise with outside contractors (e.g., window cleaners, carpet shampooing) regarding the allocation and scheduling of their work.
Qualifications And Personal Attributes:
1. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in accommodation management in Irish Hotels.
2. Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in budgeting and financial management, and knowledge of health and safety regulations.
3. Customer-focused: Dedicated to providing excellent service and ensuring guest satisfaction.
4. Organized: Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
5. Problem-solver: Capable of addressing issues promptly and finding effective solutions.
6. Team Player: Works well with others and fosters a positive team environment. Must have a positive attitude and a desire to motivate others.
7. Attention to details: Be extremely standards focused with a high level of attention to detail.
