Maintenance Manager -Waste Water Treatment Works
Sisk Drace is seeking a Maintenance Manager at the Shanganagh/Bray Wastewater Treatment Works in Shankill, Co. Dublin, under the SD Operations & Maintenance Joint Venture (SD O&M JV). The joint venture, comprising John Sisk & Son and DRACE Infrastructures, has been involved in the design, delivery, and operation of the wastewater treatment facility since 2006.
The role is based primarily at the waste water treatment plant in Shanganagh, but covers the pumping station and storm tank in Bray.
The ideal candidate is someone with a solid technical background in wastewater treatment and a proven track record in team management and operations within a heavy industry setting. The candidate should be proactive, with a focus on maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
1. Supervising a team of 12 personnel, including operations and maintenance staff.
2. Regular monthly reporting to the Plant Manager (PM) and immediate reporting during emergencies.
3. Ensuring ongoing compliance with ISO 9001 Quality System and the plant’s Standard and Maintenance Operating Procedures (SOPs & MSOPs).
4. Overseeing plant shutdowns, supervising external subcontractors, and managing the maintenance team to ensure the continuous and fail-safe operation of the plant.Optimal use of asset maintenance management software.Overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
5. Managing the plant's health and safety system, including the potential implementation of ISO 45001 accreditation.Monthly reporting of all health and safety-related matters.
6. Controlling operational costs and implementing cost-saving measures.
7. Managing the Odour Control System and related monitoring instruments.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
8. 5-10 years in a responsible management role within water/wastewater treatment or a related industry.
9. Experience with the maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment, especially pumps, gas generators, aerators, and SCADA/PLC systems.
10. Trade background in mechanical or electrical fields or a Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
11. Proven ability in staff management and human resources.
12. Readiness to respond to plant failures outside of regular working hours and assist in remote troubleshooting.
13. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
14. Effective communication and leadership abilities to motivate and manage the team.
