Job Description
Our client, a leading contractor specializing in roadworks and infrastructure, is seeking a Health & Safety (H&S) Advisor to join their team based in Galway.
* Develop and enforce health and safety procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
* Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
* Deliver health and safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training to employees and subcontractors.
* Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing reports and recommending corrective actions.
* Maintain accurate records of health and safety activities, including risk assessments and training sessions.
* Collaborate with site teams and management to address health and safety issues and implement best practices.
* Liaise with external regulatory bodies to ensure all projects adhere to safety standards.
* Promote a proactive safety culture, encouraging continuous improvement and awareness among site personnel.
* Minimum of 4 years experience in a Health & Safety role, ideally within the roadworks or construction sector.
* Relevant qualifications in Health & Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) or equivalent.
* Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and industry standards.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and influence site teams.
* Highly organized, with strong attention to detail.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Full driving license and flexibility to travel to sites across Galway and surrounding areas.
