Job Summary
An Operations Manager is required to oversee the day-to-day management of a diverse and complex site. The successful candidate will ensure that all aspects of people management, financial operations, food & beverage operations, visitor experience, and client activities are met as per company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the site to a high standard in line with client contract and General Manager direction.
* Maintain accurate financial information systems as required by Aramark Ireland.
* Ensure adherence to daily cash procedures, including Petty Cash, lodgements, Safe Checks, etc.
* Foster a world-class visitor experience across the site and meet all service and financial KPIs.
* Support the in-house team to deliver world-class service.
* Work collaboratively with the General Manager and department heads to promote an inclusive and friendly workplace.
* Provide regular reports to the General Manager on budgeted KPIs, team training and development, and customer satisfaction.
* Adhere to all company procedures outlined by Internal Audit, HR, OpX guidelines, Business Conduct Policy, etc.
* Ensure training for responsible service of alcohol is maintained and licensing laws are fulfilled.
* Take direct responsibility for full quality and safety compliance, including Food Hygiene and EH&S legislation.
* Be primarily responsible for total site operating standards, quality, and operational excellence.
* Maintain regular presence and visibility throughout the site, owning the environment and attitude of the team.
* Identify opportunities and investigate potential growth targets with the General Manager.
* Support the General Manager in appraisals/CMP for all staff on an annual basis.
* Recruit, train, and develop staff in support of departmental heads.
* Awareness and adaptability to seasonal realities of the business.
* Perform other duties as required by Management.
* Build and maintain excellent working relationships with department heads and key stakeholders.
* Monitor and evaluate the Facilities & Cleaning Team's performance and productivity, communicating weekly the facilities needs of the business.
Requirements
* An approved catering qualification at diploma/degree level or 5 years industry experience, 2 of which were at Café management or department deputy level, preferably with a strong background in high-volume tourism, hospitality/conference, and banqueting/food service operation.
* Experience in standalone Café P&L management and accountability with excellent financial and commercial acumen.
* Experience in autonomous site or large Café/Restaurant management within the hotel/catering/visitor attraction/contract-managed services industry.
* A high degree of knowledge of Food Hygiene, including HACCP, and Facilities Management (a plus).
* A passion for fresh food and service.
* The ability to manage in a diverse environment with a focus on client and customer service.
* Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
* Professionalism and the ability to present and report on relevant business information.
* Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
* Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
* Familiarity with back-office systems, including Word, Excel, PP, social media, and booking systems (a plus).
* Ability to successfully implement positive changes.
* Prior detailed knowledge of POS systems, AV, and CC machines (imperative) as this role will act as the main reporting position for daily operational issues and support needs.
* A hands-on team mentality.
* A confident and relaxed communicator is essential as the role demands a calm and efficient operator to support the General Manager in the day-to-day operations of all departments.
