Job Description:
We are seeking a Social Media Specialist to enhance our organic social efforts across our publisher brands, starting with Popdust and GeistM. This role will expand to include additional brands as our social media footprint grows.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the Manager of Brand & Content to create social media and engagement strategies that promote audience growth.
* Implement social media strategies for Popdust and GeistM, as well as our other publisher brands.
* Collaborate closely with the Organic/Affiliate team to determine which articles to publish and repurpose.
* Packaging and translating our articles to feel native to the platforms on which they are published without sacrificing editorial voice and integrity.
* Creation and publishing of relevant, original, and high-quality content and copy.
* Utilize tools like Canva and CapCut to create engaging social content.
* Daily social monitoring and regular reporting of content performance and key learnings.
* Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications.
* Build and foster meaningful interactions with audiences on social platforms to enhance engagement and community building.
Requirements:
* 1-3 years of relevant social media marketing experience, previous publisher experience a plus.
* Proven track record of creating engaging social/video content (portfolio required).
* Strong ideation and brainstorming skills with a deep understanding of creating social content for platforms like Instagram, Meta, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
* A keen trendspotter with a passion for social trends, pop culture, and current events.
* Experienced in using Canva, CapCut or similar for content creation.
* Experience using social media scheduling tools.
* Excellent copywriting skills with a flair for crafting engaging, brand-aligned content.
* Good understanding of social media KPIs and web traffic metrics.
* Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
* B.A. in Marketing, Communication, or a relevant field.
* Knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and Google Analytics a plus.
* Knowledge of WordPress is a plus.
* Proficiency in English at a professional level.
