Job Summary
Due to expanding our Tax Team, we have an exciting role for candidates interested in a commercially focused tax position in a leading global market participant. This is an extremely broad role which involves working with all areas of the business to manage exposure and ensure compliance with all tax heads across multiple jurisdictions. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role offers a wide range of responsibility giving the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to work in a fast paced and dynamic trading environment. The position will include collaboration with trading, operational, finance and group tax teams, responsibility for tax compliance, and leading process automation while supporting other ad hoc tax projects.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Responsibility for the coordination and review of all European tax compliance with particular emphasis on Corporation Tax, VAT, DWT, Stamp Duties/Financial Transaction Taxes and Transfer Pricing.
2. Tax Accounting duties including monthly provisioning and account reconciliations.
3. Responsibility for continued development, maintenance and testing of internal tax controls and ensuring all tax policies and procedure documentation is up to date.
4. Supporting payroll and HR functions and advising on Global Mobility matters.
5. Building strong relationships with relevant business units to ensure timely communication regarding the potential impact of tax changes on equity and derivative positions held for market making.
6. Assisting with the management of tax audits, including resolving audit issues.
7. Assist with the development of system automations to streamline processes.
What we’re looking for:
1. 3+ years of experience in tax compliance or advisory work, previous UK corporate tax or Global Mobility experience an advantage.
2. AITI qualified with an accounting qualification or a strong knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
3. A proven ability to understand and use Accounting Software systems (Great Plains/Dynamics Experience would be an advantage) and reporting and data analytics tools.
4. Strong interpersonal skills with experience and an interest in supporting the development of team members.
5. Strong attention to detail and ability to organize and work with large volumes of data.
6. Ability to prioritise and manage multiple workflows in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
7. Deadline driven and results focused.
