Engineer/Technical Cork Permanent PART 1 : Role Details Role Title Trainee Lineworker Department ESB Reports To Contracts Manager Location ROI PART 2: Role Purpose Responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical power systems, such as poles, transformers and transmission lines, ensuring electrical power is delivered safely, and maintaining power lines’ integrity.

PART 3: Principal Responsibilities
11. Adhere to and maintain compliance with all Health and Safety procedures within your work. Ensuring you are responsible for yourself and/or team members who report into you
12. Adhere to instructions issued by Person in Charge of Work (PICW)
13. Report good catches/near misses in a timely manner
14. Inspecting and repairing power lines and related equipment
15. Installing and maintaining electrical power systems
16. Climbing poles and working at heights
17. Operating and maintaining tools and equipment
18. Responding to emergencies, such as power outages
PART 4: Person Specification Education/Qualifications
19. Full Category B Driving licence
20. Must pass a colour vision test, have good literacy, verbal and numeracy skills
Experience
21. Previous related experience required preferred
22. Ability to work at heights is essential
23. Good hand/eye co-ordination, manual dexterity and spatial aptitude
24. Previous experience working in construction, agriculture or general operative sectors
Skills & Competencies (evidence of)
Technical
25. Ability to read and understand the Electricity Network Diagram
26. A strong understanding of project health and safety requirements
27. Must have an appropriate level of fitness and physical ability to carry out duties as described

Personal
30. Reached the statutory school leaving age
31. Ability to climb wooden ESB poles / Steel Towers
32. Must be willing to travel throughout Ireland

34. Willing and able to perform duties in all weather conditions in rural and remote locations
